Scottsdale is a city part of the Phoenix Metropolitan area and is often dubbed as “The West’s Most Western Town” or the “Beverly Hills of the Southwest”. The city boasts some of the nation’s best shopping, schools, golf courses, events, and nightlife.
If shopping is what you are after, Scottsdale Fashion Square near Old Town Scottsdale is the largest shopping mall in the entire American Southwest is a must see. Additional shopping attractions include Kierland Commons, Scottsdale Quarter, and the quaint old west-style stores located throughout Old Town Scottsdale.
There are more than 200 golf courses in the Scottsdale and surrounding areas. In 2006, the Robb Report dubbed Scottsdale “America’s Best Place to live for Golf”. Some of the award-winning traditional desert golf courses include TPC Scottsdale (the home to the PGA’s Phoenix Open each winter), Troon North, Grayhawk, and We-Ko-Pa courses.
